Must have tools will be different for every business, and yet some will be the same. A wedding venue will require a lot of tools. It’s important to make things easier on you as a venue owner, and for the clients that will be booking.
There will be the office to set up of course, but I have a few suggestions for the outdoor areas. The longer we are in business (over eight years now) the more we realize efficiency is key to sanity, and having an enjoyable wedding day experience for everyone!
These tools are located in my Amazon Store for your convenience. I am an Amazon affiliate, and will make a small commission on products purchased, at no extra cost to you.
Abba Patio 10 x 20-Feet Outdoor Carport Canopy with 6 Steel Legs, Beige
We now have two of these tents. I have the beige, but I’m pretty sure it also comes in white. We have the industrial barn which holds 150 with tables and chairs. Most weddings take place on the top lawn with the beautiful view to look at. However, when bad weather decides to show up the barn is THE place to be.
The tents are use for food service just outside the barn area. This makes extra room in the barn, so things are not so tight. When dancing starts, a few tables are removed. The guests have usually dwindled by then and people relocate to other tables or sit in chairs to watch the dancing.
These tents are very easy to put together and take down, perfect for our purpose.

Gorilla Carts GOR400-COM Steel Garden Cart with Removable Sides, 400-lbs. Capacity, Green
When my sister moved away she gave me this cart. I had no idea this cart would become one of my favorite tools! The caterers use it for transporting food to and from the food area, the DJ uses it to move his equipment, our clients use it to cart things to there proper areas when they arrive and depart, it’s a treasure.
I now have two of these. Do not use these carts to move dance floor pieces to and from. They are way to heavy and pop the tires, not good. We now give them a hand truck to use and it’s perfect.

Milwaukee 47109 600-Pound Capacity Flow Back Handle Hand Truck with 8-Inch Ace Tuf Wheels
The hand truck is also one of our favorite must have tools. It’s great for moving dance floor pieces, but also for moving the wine barrels, decor doors, and other heavy things. If I were to buy a new one I would get one with a bigger platform. We have the one my parents gave me, old, lol!
It’s important that we take the proper precautions for safety. No one wants to be injured during wedding season, there is so much to do. Don’t do something stupid in the moment that you will regret later, just say-in. ?♀️

Fiskars 18 Inch PowerGear Bypass Lopper (96256935J)
I love these loppers! They are not to long, or heavy. Just the right size for me and my trimming needs. My husband told my daughter she could keep my loppers the other day, and said “What?” Um, no you cannot.

Corona TP 6870 MAX RazorTOOTH DualCOMPOUND Action 14-ft. Tree Pruner
Oh, this one is so fun to use! We have lot’s of pine trees. There are always branches hanging to low or dead ones that need cut off. My husband always tries to help me, but really, I love doing it myself. He is taller though and that comes in handy sometimes, lol!

Husqvarna 125BVx, 28cc 2-Cycle Gas 470 CFM 170 MPH Handheld Leaf Blower/Vacuum – 952711902
What a life saver this leaf blower is! After weed-eating and lawn mowing all the dead grass needs blown off the cement patios. We’ve found it’s good for blowing the pine needles off the pea gravel that is in the swing-set area too.
Some venues swear it works for getting the water off the chairs when it rains.

Deer Out Deer Repellent 1 Gallon Concentrate Makes 10 Gallons
This Deer Out – I could not live without. In the spring and late fall the deer are pests. In order to keep the plants from being pillaged I have to spray. It has a spicy smell and only right when you spray it. It works super for us.

Briggs & Stratton 20655 Gas Pressure Washer 3200 PSI 2.7 GPM 208cc OHV with Easy Start Technology
Okay, this must have tool is not used a lot, but sure is wonderful. We use it in the spring when we wash all the chairs after winter. Plus, it washes the barn cement floor well and the hanging lights in the barn that collect dust all year.
Our barn is open on one side so it lets dust in. And in the winter those nasty Flicker birds need a place to hang out (why my barn and not a tree?). I clean up bird droppings in the spring, and this pressure washer does the trick!!

Ashman Shepherds Hook 10 Pack Black, 35 Inches Tall, Made of Premium Metal for Hanging Solar Light, Bird Feeders, Mason Jars, Garden Stake and Wedding Decor
Shepherd hooks… well, let’s just say they are – for sure – a must have tool. It is a rare wedding weekend when these are not gracing my yard. Usually down the aisle with unique decor hanging from them.

Field King Professional 190328 No Leak Pump Backpack Sprayer for Killing Weeds in Lawns and Gardens
Oh my! This is used over, and over, again. Probably every week for something, especially in the spring. Hubby uses it to kill weeds and spray for bugs, and I use it to spray the – Deer Out.
It’s very bulky for me, I’m not going to lie. I tried one that rolls on the ground behind you, and I loved it! However it just didn’t hold up, it was always breaking. I get it done with the backpack one, but it’s probably painful to watch me, lol!

Rust-Oleum Available 206540 Chalkboard Brush-On, Black, 30-Ounce, 30 oz
We made our own chalkboards. I use this chalkboard paint all. the. time. My chalkboards usually get repainted every year. Chalkboards are very popular, and get used a lot. No chalk pins though, they do not wash off.

So, there you have it. Must have tools that will make your life as a venue owner easier, and help your clients out too.
