Organizing Our Wedding Week
Nine days until my daughter’s backyard wedding takes place! It is starting to get a bit overwhelming, I decided it was time to create a list for each day next week. Organizing our wedding week just got real. I decided to call these handy sheets my “Today Pages”. Click on the photo to get your free copy.
At the top of the page will be the days name – Monday, Tuesday, etc. and on the left side will be the time of day starting at 6:30 in the morning and going through 9:00 at night. I decided on 30 minute intervals, knowing some things will not be assigned a time but will just be done that day.
I decided to keep these “Today Pages” out in the open on a table that I have reserved for this purpose. Also, the RSVP list is on this table so I can find it when I need to mark someone’s response down. This works best for me and my sweet helpers. You might have a different system or way of keeping track of things, it doesn’t matter how it is done, but needs to work efficiently.
Every day I add something to the list as I remember it. That is why I started early. It’s nice “not” to keep it all inside my head. I’m over 50 and my brain needs more time to think things through! I have had to come up with new ways of compensating for my 50-ish brain, lol.
The “Today Pages” were not available when our other daughter was married. I really wish they would have been. Writing things down on paper lets others see it too. They don’t have to keep running to me to ask what else needs to be done. I already seem more organized, this is a good thing. It’s just so much better when things are as organized as they can be. Something unplanned will happen. However… if most things are in sync, unexpected problems won’t really be a big deal.
Speaking of organization… I have taken the tables downstairs and started to put all our wedding supplies on and under them. My house was becoming very cluttered with wedding supplies. Clutter makes me tired, something had to be done. While I was taking the long white plastic table down the stairs I dropped it on my toe. It’s been a week and it still hurts! Ugh, be more careful than I was, dancing at the wedding might be out for me.
One week from today we will be having our wedding rehearsal and dinner. Only nine days until the wedding day.
How will you keep things organized – The Wedding Week?
Eryn has been married for Six years now and has one little boy and a sweet little girl, my grandchildren! And… she runs her own business too. We are very close and do lots of things together. I am blessed beyond measure. I did break my toe that day! It was about 9 months before it felt good again. You can find Eryn at http://erynwhalenfitness.com/
